General Info

Dr Struan Clark

General Practitioner

I started at Broadway in January 2020, just in time for COVID-19! Prior to this, I spent 18 months at East Otago Health, and before that 21 years as a rural doctor in Golden Bay. Until March 2022, I had the role of Director of the Postgraduate Teaching Programme at the University of Otago Department of General Practice and Rural Health, and I am now focussing on re-establishing Broadway as a teaching practice for medical students and trainee GPs. I love the breadth of general practice, getting to know people of all ages and backgrounds, and helping them in their daily lives.

Born and brought up in Dundee, Scotland, I completed my medical training at the University of Aberdeen and in the Northeast of Scotland. In 1991, as part of a year working for Greenpeace, I came to Aotearoa-New Zealand; here I met my wife, who brought me South where we have lived and brought up our two children. I love to ski, tramp, kayak, sail, read and garden, and have a lifelong love of nature and the environment.
